Updating Password & Security Tokens when your password expires/resets

When you reset your password, the security token resets as well.
Depending on your SFDC Org settings and business compliance regulations, you may need to change your password every 30, 60, 90 or 120 days. Please speak to your Salesforce Administrator and ask them how often your password will be required to be changed.

The links below will take you to the Salesforce Help Site:

What happens in CommuniGator when my Salesforce details change?

Once you have changed your password after being expired or reset, the integration between CommuniGator & Salesforce will continue to be broken until your credentials are updated. This needs to be done in CommuniGator.

With every password reset in Salesforce you will need to re-enter your new security token and password into CommuniGator's platform.
This can be done under the Integration and Data Sync setup pages.

If you do not update the credentials in CommuniGator you will find that it will still attempt to make a connection to your Salesforce account, but will fail and eventually lock you out of Salesforce.

At this point when you try to log in to Salesforce you will get an error that says, “Account Locked”, and you will require an Administrator to unlock your account.
You may ask your Administrator to have your “Maximum invalid login attempts” set to “No Limit” so that your Salesforce account is never locked out.

Data Sync - Updating your Salesforce Credentials

1. Log in to your CommuniGator account

2. Click on the relevant GatorMail instance

3. Hover over the 'Tools' tab

4. Click 'Data Sync'

5. Click on 'View Connectors'

6. Click on the Data Sync you wish to access.

You will see a red error stating the connection to Salesforce has failed.

7. Click on the 'Change State' button.

8. Set the connector status to 'Disabled'.

9. Select 'Change State' to confirm the change in status.

10. Select 'Data Source Properties'.

11. Enter your new Security Token and Password (avoid using copy & paste as this can cause issues).

Now all you need to do is change the connector state back to enabled.

Please Note: You do not need to change the Client ID or Client Secret.

Integration - Updating your Salesforce Credentials

1. Log in to your CommuniGator account

2. Select the GatorMail instance you want to use

3. Hover over 'Tools'

4. Select 'Integration'

5. By default you will start on the General tab. Instead you need to select the 'Security' tab.

6. Under Salesforce credentials, enter your Username, Password, and Security Token.

7. Click 'Save'.

What Happens Now?

After updating your credentials on both Data Sync and Integration pages, log out of CommuniGator then log back in.
Then navigate back to Tools then Data Sync. Once there click on View connector and you will notice the error in red has disappeared. This means the new Salesforce credentials have been accepted and Data Sync is live.

Check the same for integrations by clicking on Tools -> Integrations.
The error at the bottom of the General tab will have disappeared, which means the new Salesforce credentials have been accepted and Integration is live.
